The Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Cheng-Kung University (NCKU) has been established since 1931, and is the oldest and the most renowned mechanical engineering institutes in Taiwan. In together with the state of arts facilities and the innovative teaching styles, students are expected to have the most exceptional educational training leading to their successful career development.  Our department offers both stringent training in fundamental knowledge of mechanical science and board introduction on the state-of-the-art engineering applications. Students who graduate from our department are not only active in mechanical related industry, but also play critical roles in other high-tech fields such as semiconductors and optoelectronics.

Applicants from non-English speaking countries are required to provide English proficiency certificate for at least one of the following tests: TOFEL, TOEIC, IELTS, or GEPT. Undergraduate applicants should have basic Chinese skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Undergraduate applicants are required to provide a Chinese proficiency certificate (TOCFL or New HSK or relevant Chinese language certificate.). The English proficiency certificate is not required for applicant whose previous degree is from an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa or the United States of America), but the applicant has to provide his/her diploma as proof. All new students are REQUIRED to have a health check-up for university enrollment.
