KNU named after J.Balasagyn is implementing fallowing directions of Masters 510100 "Mathematics":

- preparation of qualified specialists for versatile professional activity in the field of fundamental science, scientific, applied and experimental research, experimental design work, mathematical modeling and software, development of effective methods of solving problems of natural science, technology, economics and management, teaching in the cycle of mathematical disciplines by developing students' personal qualities and the formation of universal and professional competence, contributing to his social mobility As well as the formation of social and personal qualities of students: purposefulness, organization, diligence, responsibility, citizenship, communication, tolerance, increase of general culture.

  The field of professional activity of graduates is research activity in areas using mathematical methods and computer technologies; solving various problems using mathematical modeling of processes, objects and software; development of effective methods for solving problems of natural science, engineering, economics and management; software and information support of scientific, research, design and development, operational and managerial activities; teaching cycle

  The following disciplines are presented with options to choose in 510100 "Mathematics":

  • Mathematical analysis
  • Differential equations
  • Geometry and topology

  • Teaching math

  Master's degree students in the direction of training 510100 "Mathematics" studies such disciplines of the professional cycle:

  • History and methodology of mathematics
  • Philosophy and methodology of scientific knowledge
  • Pedagogy and psychology in higher education
  • Methods of solving problems of nonlinear analysis
  • Theory of uniform spaces
  • Qualitative methods of investigation of nonlinear analysis problems
  • Fundamentals of the theory of integral equations
  • Topology algebra and topological vector spaces
  • Competency-based approach in teaching mathematics at higher education institutions
  • Elective disciplines

The objects of professional activity of graduates are concepts, hypotheses, theorems, methods and mathematical models that constitute the content of fundamental and applied mathematics, mechanics and other natural sciences.

  Types of professional activities of graduates:

  • research and development;
  • production-technological;
  • organizational and management;
  • teaching (in accordance with the established procedure).

  Master's degree in the direction of training 510100 "Mathematics" should be able to solve following tasks:

1. In research and development and research and development activities:

- application of methods of mathematical and algorithmic modeling in the study of real processes and objects in order to find effective solutions to general scientific, organizational and applied problems of a wide profile;

- analysis and generalization of the results of research work in the field of mathematics using modern achievements of science and technology, advanced domestic and foreign experience;

- preparation and organization of seminars, conferences, symposiums;

- preparation and editing of scientific publications.

2. In manufacturing and technology activities:

- application of fundamental mathematical knowledge and creative skills for quick adaptation to new tasks arising in the process of development of computer technology and mathematical methods, to the growing complexity of mathematical algorithms and models, to the need for quick decision-making in new situations;

- use of modern computing equipment and software in accordance with the profile of the Master's program;

- accumulation, analysis and systematization of the required information using modern methods of automated collection and processing of information;

- development of regulatory methodological documents and participation in defining the corporate network development strategy;

3. In organizational and management activities:

- organizing the work of research groups;

- application of scientific achievements for forecasting the results of activities, quantitative and qualitative assessment of the consequences of decisions;

4. In the fields of teaching:

- lecturing, conducting seminars and other forms of educational process in a specific area of mathematics (in accordance with the profile of the Master's degree program).

Admission Requirements

People who have secondary general/secondary vocational / higher vocational education have the right to enroll in the 1st year of KNU and its structural subdivisions.

  • Selection and enrollment of the applicants - citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and citizens of other countries for study is conducted twice a year: in summer and winter periods.

Winter admission  of applicants to the KNU is carried out by contract, for the places left vacant after the summer admission.

Registration and participation in the competition of applicants - citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic for Bachelor's and specialty educational programs are held based on the all-republican testing through the automated information system "Applicant Online" on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic https://2020.edu.gov.kg.

Registration and participation in the competition of applicants - foreign citizens  is carried out through the automated information system "Applicant Online" on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic https://edugate.edu.gov.kg.

Entrance examinations are conducted for foreign applicants in the form of computer testing/interviews on the programs of entrance certification tests.

Education of citizens of other states is carried out based on international agreements that have entered into force in the prescribed manner, to which the Kyrgyz Republic is a party, as well as based on agreements between educational organizations or with individual citizens.

All required documents for foreign citizens:   document about education equivalent to the state document on secondary general education / secondary vocational education / higher vocational education of the Kyrgyz Republic must be  presented to the Admission Commission. The examination of documents of foreign citizens is carried out by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The main criteria for admission to study at KNU for all forms of education are the level of knowledge and abilities of the applicant. Admission of applicants to KNU is made on a competitive basis.

The applicant has the right to familiarize themselves on the university’s website with the Charter of KNU, its licenses for educational activity and certificates of state attestation, independent accreditation, rules of admission to KNU named after J.Balasagyn, and also other necessary information connected with the admission of applicants.
