KNU named after J. Balasagyn pursues the following objectives in the education and education of personality on the direction of training of  bachelors 530600- “Journalism”

preparation of qualified bachelors for diverse professional activities in the field of mass media and related information and communication sectors, including creating and editing materials for media, developing and implementing media product concepts. This is achieved by developing students  personal qualities and forming professional competencies that support the successful realization of their potential in their chosen field. Additionally, fostering students social and personal qualities, such as determination, organization, diligence, responsibility, citizenship, communication skills, tolerance, and enhancing overall culture.

The areas of professional activity for graduates include education ,information and mediacommunication.

Bachelor degree in the field of study 530600- “Journalism” includes the following professional cycle disciplines:

·         Media

·         Journalistic investigation

·         Theory and practice of mass communication

·         Fundamentals of creative journalism

·         Professional ethics of a journalist

·         Stylistic

·         Psychology of journalism

 

 

The objects of professional activity for graduates are mass information transmitted through various channels of mass media and other media.

The types of professional activities for graduates include:

•Authoring activities;

•Editing activities;

•Project-analytical activities;

•Organizational-managerial activities;

•Social-educational activities;

•Marketing activities;

•Production-technical activities.

A bachelor’s degree holder in the field of study 530600 “Journalism” must address the following tasks:

1.In the Field of Authoring Activities:

            •Search for and create material for various types and forms of mass media and other media, considering their specific characteristics.

2.In the Field of Editing Activities:

            •Edit and summarize material intended for publication in newspapers, magazines, news feeds, television, radio, and online media in accordance with language norms, professional standards, formats, styles, and technological requirements accepted in different types of media.

            •Develop publication concepts, conduct literary-analytical work on material/work, and maintain creative contacts with authors, publishing staff, and printing houses.

3.In the Field of Project-Analytical Activities:

            •Participate in the development and adjustment of media project concepts, analyzing and defining their formats in various programming and planning types in accordance with the media development strategy.

            •Participate in the work of expert groups to analyze and evaluate media projects and other informational materials, preparing reports with conclusions.

4.In the Field of Organizational-Managerial Activities:

            •Participate, according to job status, in organizing the work of media organizations, their divisions, and creative teams.

            •Participate in the development of strategic development plans.

            •Monitor and document the processes and results of activities of small teams or groups.

5.In the Field of Social-Educational Activities:

            •Establish and implement professional cooperation with media and other media, representatives of various segments of society, organizations, institutions, and interact with them.

            •Develop communication strategies with the audience through various communication channels (website, social networks, journal, YouTube, etc.).

6.In the Field of Marketing Activities:

            •Analyze the informational needs of visitors to information resources.

            •Rewrite texts on various topics (rewriting).

            •Write articles, reviews, and other texts on specified topics (copywriting).

            •Create content for social media to shape the organization’s image in the global information space (SMM).

            •Monitor and document processes and results.

7.In the Field of Production-Technical Activities:

            •Participate in the production process of publications, television, radio programs, online media, and other media using modern technologies.

            •Manage the comprehensive actions and processes of creating and editing materials for mass media, as well as developing, promoting, and implementing media product concepts.
