KNU named after J. Balasagyn realizes the following objectives in the field of education and education of personality on the direction of training of master’s degree 530300 "Psychology"

Program prepares qualified specialists capable of innovative professional activities in the field of psychology, possessing universal and professional competencies that enhance their social mobility and stability in the labor market. It also focuses on forming personal and social qualities in graduates, including determination, organization, diligence, responsibility, citizenship, communication skills, tolerance, and an overall increase in cultural awareness.

The areas of professional activity for graduates include education, culture, healthcare, law, and social assistance.

Master's students in Psychology study the following professional cycle disciplines:

●        Main directions of modern psychology

●        Psychology of higher education

●        Management, marketing, and economics in education

●        Psychotherapy

●        Theories of personality psychology

●        Cross-cultural psychology

The objects of professional activity for graduates include the educational process, educational environment, and research activities in the field of psychology. The types of professional activities include research, practical, project-based, psychological-pedagogical, and organizational-management.

A master's student in Psychology 530300 should address the following tasks:

1.       In the field of research activities:

-Planning and organizing scientific research, selecting appropriate methodologies, constructing mathematical models for the studied problem, identifying key variables, and interpreting data;

-Analyzing, systematizing, and summarizing the results of psychological research to solve problems in their chosen area of professional activity;

-Preparing scientific reports, reviews, and publications based on research results and participating in scientific conferences, seminars, symposiums, and councils.

2.       In practical activities:

-Implementing psychological services in their chosen area of professional activity;

-Developing theoretical and methodological models for psychological diagnostics and instrumental tasks for expert evaluations and conclusions.

3.       In project activities:

-Conducting psychological analyses of situations, identifying needs, formulating goals, limitations, and risks related to project implementation;

-Designing preventive, developmental, and psychocorrectional programs while assessing the readiness of the public, organizations, and personnel for their implementation.

4.       In psychological-pedagogical activities:

-Identifying needs and opportunities in psychological-pedagogical training and self-education;

-Using innovations based on scientific, methodological, economic, and ecological justification, along with their psychological support;

-Teaching psychology in higher and additional education systems.

5.       In organizational-management activities:

-Assessing the psychological state and potential of managed systems (institutions/organizations, both conditional and real groups/teams) using a range of psychological diagnostic methods;

-Applying management technologies, regulatory-legal, and methodological tools of psychological services, as well as ergonomic solutions to ensure psychologically comfortable workplaces.

The normative duration for obtaining higher professional education in the master’s program in Psychology 530300 is 2 years for full-time study and 2 years and 6 months for part-time study.
