KNU named after J. Balasagyn realizes the following objectives in the field of education and education of personality on the direction of training of master’s degree 531100 ’’Linguistics”

 Preparation of qualified specialists in the field of linguistics and humanities, including language, interpersonal, and intercultural communication, education, science, culture, and management, who possess universal and professional competencies that contribute to social mobility and resilience in the labor market. Additionally, it focuses on the development of social and personal qualities in master's students: goal orientation, organizational skills, diligence, responsibility, civic engagement, communication skills, tolerance, and the enhancement of overall culture.

A student pursuing a Master's degree in Linguistics can choose the following specialization:theory and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages and Cultures in Higher Education

 

Professional fields for graduates include education, cross-linguistic, and business communication.

Master's student in the program 531100 "Linguistics" studies the following professional disciplines:

●        Foreign Language

●        Language of Scientific Communication

●        Theory and Methodology of Textbook Development

Professional activity areas for graduates include the educational environment, translation theory, and practice. The types of professional activities for graduates encompass teaching, translation, and advisory-communication.

A Master's student in the program 531100 "Linguistics" is expected to accomplish the following tasks:

1.       In the field of teaching:

-Designing educational programs, individualized learning pathways, and course syllabi based on research and methodological literature as well as the student’s own research findings;

-Fostering professional ethics and attitudes while considering the age and individual characteristics of the students;

-Organizing classes and research activities for students, including supervising thesis projects.

2.       In the field of translation:

-Facilitating communication across various professional fields;

-Utilizing translation techniques and technologies with regard to the nature of the text and translation conditions to achieve maximum communicative effect;

-Developing informational support tools for translation;

-Creating dictionaries, glossaries, and methodological guidelines for specialized translation fields.

3.       In the field of advisory and communication:

-Applying conflict-resolution strategies in intercultural communication;

-Conducting information search activities for planning and implementing intercultural communication projects;

-Organizing and providing advisory and communicative services in alignment with societal and individual needs, while adhering to ethical and regulatory norms.

The standard duration for completing a full-time Master's degree in 531100 "Linguistics" is 2 years, while part-time study takes 2 years and 6 months.
