College Vision, Mission, and Objectives
The College of Law and Political Science offers two specializations. Instruction in both the Law and Political Science departments is conducted in Arabic, while English is also included throughout the four academic stages. Student admission is governed by the Central Admission system of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the College adheres to the regulations and instructions issued by the Ministry. The College applies an annual system of study for all levels. The four-year program integrates theoretical and practical study; a training course is offered to fourth-year morning-program students, through which they receive practical lessons and simulations of real civil and criminal court work delivered by experienced judges.
Starting from the beginning of the 2009–2010 academic year, the College began implementing the objectives set forth by the law. The College currently follows the Central Admission system of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
01. Vision
The College’s vision is to prepare a competent generation of legal professionals and political scientists in accordance with the latest scientific and educational foundations, ensuring the judiciary and state institutions are supplied with graduates of a high professional standard. The College also adopts modern legal subjects taught in advanced universities, ultimately leading to the preparation of a generation qualified to work in various fields.
02. Mission
1. Preparing graduates to contribute to building their country by placing law at the service of society, and by providing the capacities and appropriate skills needed to supply state institutions and others with qualified personnel—within a framework of interaction between academic study and practical reality—through graduates’ serious contribution and positive impact on society. 2. Developing the student’s sound methodological thinking, providing proper legal preparation, and instilling sincere legal values, thereby enabling the graduate to become a fundamental element in society. 3. The College sets as a future goal the possibility of opening postgraduate studies. 4. Developing and activating the legal consulting office. 5. Opening a postgraduate program in the field of human rights. 6. Establishing a unit for legal and political studies. 7. Holding conferences, scientific seminars, and training courses. 8. Achieving qualitative and quantitative development in scientific, educational, cultural, and research activities across various areas of knowledge, and supplying society with competent personnel who contribute to implementing plans for progress and scientific, technical, and civilizational development.
