The department's vision is to be a leading local and international center of learning, preparing specialists in Islamic creed, Islamic thought, and calling to God Almighty, serving Islam and Muslims, within the general framework of educational quality standards and specialized academic accreditation.
Mission of the Department of Islamic Creed and Thought:
The mission of the Department of Islamic Creed and Thought is focused on the following tasks:
- Supporting religious and academic institutions with specialists in Islamic creed and thought, preparing them with a sound doctrinal foundation based on textual and rational evidence, teaching the sciences of the Holy Quran and the purified Sunnah of the Prophet, and distinguished by moderation, far removed from extremism and fanaticism, and ready to confront those who raise doubts and call to deviation.
- Supporting educational institutions with educational specialists and preachers equipped with Islamic legal, doctrinal, and linguistic sciences, as well as modern sciences, in accordance with the requirements of the modern age, through the adoption of scientific research and diverse fields of community service.
- To strengthen Islamic and national identity and embody pride in it through scientific Islamic educational curricula and practical activities that contribute to preparing learners who respect differing opinions, based on civilized dialogue with diverse religions and cultures.
- To elevate Islamic ethics and authentic Arab-Islamic social values ​​within the framework of social transformations, to protect society from various doctrinal and intellectual deviations.
- To build bridges of cooperation with diverse academic and cultural institutions to work on developing learners and preparing specialists who serve the country and its people within disciplined Islamic, doctrinal, and intellectual frameworks to achieve quality higher education and specialized academic accreditation.
Objectives of the Department of Islamic Creed and Thought:
The objectives of the Department of Islamic Creed and Thought, in order to achieve its vision and mission, are focused on the following:
- To instill Islamic creed in the hearts of learners and protect them from being influenced by misguided and deviant beliefs and ideas, and to equip them with modern cultures to familiarize them with human rights and public freedoms in Islam, both in thought and practice, and to ensure that these are included in international conventions.
- To prepare specialists in the fields of Islamic creed, thought, and da'wah (calling to Islam), holding bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, to support religious, educational, and social institutions.
- To cultivate a generation of teachers, preachers, orators, and religious advisors who contribute to building a unified society advanced in knowledge, character, and ethics, supporting it spiritually, scientifically, and culturally, and participating in its prosperity and progress through scientific research and serving its development and labor market needs by establishing research and consulting projects that help solve its problems.
- To promote respect for the Islamic cultural heritage, its unity, and its timeless Islamic message, to cultivate virtues, to spread tolerance in societies, and to combat extremism, fanaticism, and abhorrent sectarianism.
