Department of Electrical Engineering was established in the academic year
(2017-2018) at the College of Engineering / Al-Iraqia University. It awards a
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering after completing four
academic years. The department follows the semester system in its curriculum,
which covers general specialisations in various fields of electrical
engineering, including power and electrical machines, electronics,
communications, control, and computers. The department also grants a Master's
of Science degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, thus enabling
the department to provide both the public and private sectors with competent
engineers in scientific, practical, and research engineering applications
within the field of specialization.
Department
Vision
To
make the department distinguished and pioneering both locally and regionally in
the field of electrical engineering by offering a modern and advanced academic
program in accordance with local, regional, and international standards, and by
empowering qualified national competencies to work and provide scientific,
technical, and practical advice in the labour market.
Department
Mission
To prepare competent and
proactive engineers capable of meeting the labour market needs in both the
public and private sectors in the field of electrical engineering. This is
achieved through updating the curricula according to rapid technological
developments and the ever-changing needs of the market, equipping students with
the latest advanced knowledge and skills, and encouraging students to be
creative and innovative. Additionally, the department seeks to introduce new
postgraduate programs to keep pace with advanced and modern developments in the
speciality.

accreditation certificates and continuously updating curricula to keep pace
with scientific developments and meet labour market needs by providing an
appropriate environment for theoretical and practical teaching using the latest
tools and devices, and adhering to global quality standards and academic
accreditation.
-
Seeking to establish memoranda of understanding and
develop collaborative relationships with corresponding engineering departments
in reputable universities and local and international research centres to
maintain the academic level of both students and faculty.
Equipping
students with the necessary knowledge to enable them to solve practical and
applied problems.
Focusing
on applied scientific research as a national priority, organising seminars, and
holding scientific conferences and workshops both domestically and abroad with
universities .Focusing on applied scientific research as it is among the
national priorities, organising seminars, and holding scientific conferences
and workshops inside and outside the country with universities, research centres,
and governmental institutions across all public and private sectors, aiming to
solve practical and applied problems and to develop and exchange expertise
Adopting
postgraduate studies to improve the level of scientific research and to support
state departments, universities, institutes, and research centres with advanced
degrees, in addition to fostering a spirit of competition and opening wide
horizons for department faculty members to develop their scientific and
