College Vision, Mission, and Goals

The College of Law and Political Science comprises two departments: Law and Political Science. Instruction in both departments is delivered in Arabic, while English is also incorporated throughout the four academic years. Student admission is governed by the Central Admission system of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the College adheres to the regulations and instructions issued by the Ministry.

The College applies the annual (year-based) system for all academic stages. The four-year program integrates theoretical and practical study. A training course is offered to fourth-year morning-study students, through which students receive practical lessons and simulations of real court work in civil and criminal cases, delivered by experienced judges.

As of the beginning of the academic year 2009–2010, the College began implementing the objectives stipulated by law. The College is currently subject to Central Admission procedures overseen by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

01. Vision

The College’s mission is to prepare a competent generation of legal professionals and political scientists in accordance with the latest scientific and educational standards. This ensures the judiciary and state institutions are supplied with highly professional graduates, and relies on modern legal curricula taught in advanced universities, ultimately producing a generation qualified to work across various fields.

02. Mission

  1. Preparing graduates to contribute to building their country by placing law in the service of society, and by providing appropriate capabilities and skills to supply state institutions and others with qualified personnel—within a framework that connects academic study with practical reality through graduates’ serious contribution and positive impact on society.

  2. Developing students’ sound methodological thinking, providing them with solid legal preparation, and instilling genuine legal values in a way that enables them to become an essential element in society.

  3. The College places as a future objective the possibility of opening postgraduate programs.

  4. Developing and activating the Legal Consulting Office.

  5. Opening a postgraduate program in the field of Human Rights.

  6. Establishing a unit for legal and political studies.

  7. Holding conferences, scientific seminars, and training courses.

  8. The College aims to achieve qualitative and quantitative development in scientific, educational, cultural, and research activities across various fields of knowledge, and to provide society with competent cadres that contribute to implementing plans for advancement and scientific, technical, and civilizational development.
