Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Karatay University was established as Konya’s first foundation university by the Konya Chamber of Commerce Education and Health Foundation, pursuant to Law No. 5913 published in the Official Gazette dated 07/07/2009 and numbered 27281.
Named after the Karatay Madrasa built by the Seljuks in 1251 and recognized as the first foundation higher education institution in Anatolia and the Konya Chamber of Commerce, one of Türkiye’s most long-established chambers of commerce, KTO Karatay University admitted its first students in the 2010–2011 academic year and graduated its first cohort in June 2013. It offers educational opportunities to more than 9,000 students across 6 faculties, 2 schools, 3 vocational schools, and 1 institute.
