The Department of Communication and Design at KTO Karatay University began admitting students in the Fall Semester of the 2017–2018 academic year. The framework of Communication and Design encompasses a wide range of practices, from the tactical management of corporate design functions and advertising agencies which include design projects, teams, methods, and processes to the strategic advocates of design throughout the organization, who view design as a key driver and sustainer of corporate success. This field also includes design-oriented thinking and the use of design processes to solve general business problems.

The aim of the Communication and Design Program is to educate creative-thinking professionals who are specialized in the fields of communication and design. Established with this goal in mind, the Department of Communication and Design at KTO Karatay University takes pride in offering its students comprehensive technical and educational facilities, supported by an expert academic staff and an internationally standardized curriculum. The department is committed to educating students who are creative, solution-oriented, environmentally conscious, and equipped with knowledge and skills at global standards. This program has been established to train students who are competent in preparing, designing, and presenting effective messages in communication environments by integrating the use of technology with design and management skills in line with the policies and strategies of institutions and organizations. Unlike similar programs in Turkey, the department’s curriculum places strong emphasis on communication, technology, and design.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a recognized high school diploma with a minimum passing grade as specified per country (generally 55–60%). Required documents for pre-registration: high school diploma or proof of final year enrollment (with English or Turkish translation), official high school transcript (stamped and signed, with official translation), document confirming that high school education is formal (not online/distance), national or international exam result document if applicable (valid for 2 years), criminal record (officially certified), bank receipt for scholarship exam fee (500 TRY), and application pre-registration deposit fee (500 USD, non-refundable). Required documents for final registration: original high school diploma (notarized, in English or Turkish), equivalence certificate from the Turkish Ministry of National Education, criminal record (notarized), official transcript (notarized), passport photo page copy, 2 biometric photos, tuition fee payment receipt
