The Departmen of Social Work, offers a four-year undergraduate program based on the knowledge, skills, and values related to the discipline and profession of social work. The Social Work undergraduate program is provided as full-time education. The program duration is 4 years (8 academic semesters), with each semester lasting 14-16 weeks. The language of instruction is Turkish. Each year, approximately 50 students are admitted to the program based on their equal-weight scores in the central placement exam.

The program complies with the conditions set out by the Bologna Process. According to the distribution of the program's ECTS credits, 75% (180 ECTS) of the courses are compulsory, while 25% (60 ECTS) consist of elective courses. The program also accepts students through vertical and horizontal transfer exams, as determined by the university senate each year. Since 2017, a Double Major Program has been implemented.

Since the start of the department’s educational activities, the ERASMUS exchange program, which includes both student and staff mobility, has been running. The department focuses on areas such as "social work education," "substance abuse," and "migration," and is one of the leading departments in both regional and national studies.

The department's undergraduate program is based on the generalist social work practice model. In brief, the generalist social work practice model involves the structuring of a planned change intervention, based on a critical thinking and eclectic knowledge base, under supervision, within an organizational framework. This intervention is aimed at transforming and empowering any level of client system (individual, family, group, community). The generalist social work practice model is not focused on a specific area or method but is problem-solving oriented. It adopts a holistic approach during the problem-solving process and uses the "individual in their environment" perspective for assessment. According to this model, the social worker is a practitioner who evaluates problems and solutions comprehensively, with knowledge and skills spanning a broad range of areas.
