The main purpose of providing education at the master's level in the Department of History is to create an infrastructure for young people in the field of history to have experience in accessing information at the academic level, to gain interpretation skills and to prepare for the doctoral program. For this reason, students will be predominantly engaged in research and student-advisor collaboration will be emphasized.

Students who have undergraduate diplomas from history departments and social science departments will be made to carry out academic studies on the history of different nations, especially Turkish-Islamic History, equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field; theses that can contribute to national and international science, to meet the needs of Turkey, open to all kinds of cooperation will be prepared; while doing this, they will be specialized in different branches of history.

Our Department of History has experienced academic staff who have worked in prestigious universities in Turkey and the world, and with these opportunities, the master's program offers a quality education to its students.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must submit a recognized bachelor’s degree diploma and transcript for master’s applications.

Turkish-taught programs require at least C1 level Turkish proficiency.

GRE, GMAT, or ALES scores are optional unless required by the department.

Original documents and notarized Turkish translations must be submitted during final registration.

Applicants may be invited to an oral or written evaluation by the department.
