Our goal as the Department of Arabic Translation and Interpretation is to train translators who have a developed language awareness, perceive translation not merely as a linguistic activity but as intercultural communication, are proficient in Turkish and Arabic as well as the cultures and institutions of these two languages, and, in addition to knowledge of translation techniques, practices, and theories, are familiar with social sciences such as international relations, economics, and law, as well as basic natural sciences, gaining practical experience in both written and oral translation. During the four-year education process, our students take courses aimed at developing language skills such as reading comprehension, oral and written communication, followed by professional courses to provide a holistic understanding of translation and enable them to integrate theory with practice.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a recognized high school diploma with a minimum passing grade as specified per country (generally 55–60%). Required documents for pre-registration: high school diploma or proof of final year enrollment (with English or Turkish translation), official high school transcript (stamped and signed, with official translation), document confirming that high school education is formal (not online/distance), national or international exam result document if applicable (valid for 2 years), criminal record (officially certified), bank receipt for scholarship exam fee (500 TRY), and application pre-registration deposit fee (500 USD, non-refundable). Required documents for final registration: original high school diploma (notarized, in English or Turkish), equivalence certificate from the Turkish Ministry of National Education, criminal record (notarized), official transcript (notarized), passport photo page copy, 2 biometric photos, tuition fee payment receipt.
