In KTO Karatay University Social Work Master's Program with Thesis; graduate education is provided with original course contents, experienced academic staff in the field of social work, practice-based teaching method and advanced generalist social work approach. In the generalist social work approach, it is possible to specialize in the field with flexible sub-specialty courses. The program includes theoretical courses that include in-depth information on the philosophy of social work, intervention methods, social policies and sub-fields of social work, blending social work knowledge, skills and values with application examples in a concrete institutional environment, field practice and thesis study. The Master's Program in Social Work with Thesis is based on a scientific foundation that transfers information from social sciences (sociology, psychology, anthropology, public administration, politics, economics, etc.) and integrates them with the information obtained from its own practices.
The Master's Program of the Department of Social Work is carried out 'with thesis'. The program is two years with four semesters. In the first year, theoretical and practical courses are taken, and in the second year, thesis work is done. In this program, courses are offered as compulsory and elective. The program consists of 7 courses, 3 of which are compulsory (foundations and interventions of social work, research methods and field practice) and 4 of which are elective (social policy and social service management, social work in disaster and crisis settings, migrant welfare and social work, addiction and social work, human rights and public freedoms, etc.) and seminars. Each academic year consists of 14 weeks. Courses are semester courses and there are no prerequisites.
