Our 26 hectares campus in the heart of Guayaquil gives easy access to students from all cardinal points. Inside the campus and in the peripheries there are places such as shops, bookshops, cafeterias, restaurants, banks, gyms and parks that make university life easier.

Guayaquil is a tropical port on the Equatorial Pacific coast. Thanks to its latitude there are only two warm weather seasons making it possible to enjoy outdoor activities and visiting the nearby beaches all year long. On short trips you can also make environment and cultural changes to experience towns and cities in the Andes Mountains.

Ecuador is one of the countries with the highest level of biodiversity on the planet having 6.4% of the world's flora, 1,656 species of birds, 557 amphibians, 450 reptiles, 403 mammals... In addition, 91 different types of ecosystems have been identified, being a paradise with great ecological value.

The admission procedure requires:

· Full color copy of ID or passport

· 3 Passport size pictures (5 cmx 5cm)

· High school diploma apostilled in the country where they graduated and validated by the Ministry of Education.

· Copy of behavior certificate provided by school.

· 3 certificates of good reputation.

Universidad Catholica’s tuition has a considerable deduction due to Institutional policies. We manage three scales and international students’ access to the intermediate scale and tuition fees. Academic, sports and cultural scholarships are also available.

Student life

There are 3,21% international students in our campus, their favorite activities are attending s porting events, sharing tours to the beaches and Andean cities, and participating in community activities organized by our Pastoral Center.

We offer them a comprehensive intercultural experience by providing host families who receive international students in their homes, giving them the opportunity to live an intercultural experience by sharing their traditions, typical food and communicating in Spanish language.

Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil offers 36 undergraduate programs in different fields of knowledge:

· In the Administration field the career programs are: Business Administration, Accounting and Audit, International Business, Marketing, Commerce, Foreign Trade and Entrepreneur and Social innovation.

· In the field of agriculture, forestry, fishing and vet the career programs are: veterinary medicine and farm production.

· In the field of Arts and Humanities the career programs are: Graphic Design, Interior Design, Musical Arts, Cinematography, Digital Animation and Literature.

· In the field of Social Sciences, Journalism, Information and Law the career programs are: Economics, Communication, Organizational Psychology, Social work and Law.

· In the Education field the career programs are: Education and Pedagogy of national and foreign Language – English.

· In the field of Industry, Engineering and Construction the career programs are: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Agroindustry, Electronics and Automation, Telecommunications and Electricity.

· In the field of Health and Wellbeing: Clinical Psychology, Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy.

· And in the field of Information and Communication Technology Services (TIC) the career programs are: Tourism and Computing.

· Catholic University of Guayaquil has general common subjects that are to be taken by all students. These subjects are: Language and Thinking 1 and 2 which are considered basic for all career programs. They provide students with competences such as: optimal management of academic discourse, relevant reading comprehension, and most of all critical thinking which is the foundation of every student training process.

· Additionally, two levels of Integral Humanism which is essential for the respect to fundamental values such as solidarity, tolerance and integration to the person’s dignity.

· Finally, Contemporary Cultures, Computing Science are also compulsory for all the careers.

In each school there are subjects specifically linked to the field of knowledge they belong to, articulating the curriculum with subjects related to theoretical foundations, praxis, research, learning integration and communication.

The principle of practical training organizations is kept, focused on real and complex issues that our students deal with. Education is based on challenges and current issues which allow them to understand why and what they study for.
