Advances in digital technologies are providing us the means to sense, visualise and increasingly understand our built and natural environments. These ‘Connected Environments’ are the forefront of an emerging science, interlinking the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Mixed Realities and Data Science, via a unique a hands-on, learning through doing approach to sensing, visualising and analysing these emerging environments.
The programme addresses the increasing demand for a skill set in programming, data capture and visualization, and prototyping. With a focus on research challenges relating to the infrastructure required to instrument our built and natural environments, the programme is part of the ethos around Experiments, Arts, Society and Technology (EAST), building upon the excellence and expertise of CASA.
Students undertake modules to the value of 180 credits.
The programme consists of eight compulsory modules (120 credits) and a dissertation (60 credits).
Upon successful completion of 180 credits, you will be awarded a MSc in Connected Environments.
