The selection will be made on the basis of the study of the student's file, taking particular account of the results of the candidate and the program studied during the course.

The diplomas which give access to the proposed training are:

• bachelor in Physical of materials.

• Fundamental physical bachelor

- Training aims

The Physics of Materials master's course aims to enrich and develop the knowledge acquired during the physics bachelor's degree, also makes it possible to discover the nature of materials, the origin of their physical properties (electrical, optical, magnetic and mechanical). It makes it possible to acquire skills, namely, the physics of condensed matter, the development of materials in the bulk state or in thin layers and their characterization.

It also aims to train high-level multidisciplinary executives, performing in the field of metals, semiconductors, ceramics and glasses, physico-chemical analysis of materials.

.

Targeted business profiles and skills

The holder of a master's degree in Materials Physics can enter directly into the world of work, whether academic, that is to say in teaching or in the field of research and materials industry, given the applied nature of the majority of the modules. Nevertheless, students who would like to continue in the field of research (preparation of a doctoral thesis) will be able to do so because the scientific tools received during the training will allow them to approach and succeed in their mission in the best conditions. . Students from this course will also be able to exercise the profession of researcher, research engineer or project manager in the following sectors of activity: Public sector: Universities, major research organizations, laboratories and research centers, Private sector .

- Regional and national employability potential of graduates

The Physics of Materials specialty can lead to the preparation of a doctoral thesis and a career in the world of research, public or private. It also aims to allow students who do not wish to prepare a thesis to easily integrate into the socio-economic environment.

At the end of the training, students will have the skills required to exercise the profession of researcher, research engineer or project manager in the following sectors of activity: Public sector: Universities, research centers, Private sector

...

Gateways to other specialties

The richness of this master's program establishes gateways to other specialties related to materials science and condensed matter physics such as:

- Renewable energies

- Metallurgy

- Materials chemistry

Training monitoring indicators

During semesters 1, 2 and 3 the evaluation of students will be done continuously through personal work, homework for the fundamental units, as well as by a written exam at the end of each semester for each teaching unit. Semester 4 will be assessed on the basis of a thesis which will be presented at the end of the semester. Before a jury

The modalities of passage and orientation will be fixed by a competent commission at the level of the department of physics, faculty of exact sciences and computer science.
