REQUIRED COURSES: REL 101 - Understanding Religion, REL 350 - Religion in Interdisciplinary Perspective; DIVERSITY REQUIREMENT: Students must take at least one course in each of the following areas (for a list of allowed courses for each area, contact your departmental adviser): Religions originating in Asia, Religions originating in the Middle East, Religion in the Americas. RESEARCH SKILLS REQUIREMENT: Students must take at least one course that includes formal instruction in research and writing in Comparative Religion. Consult your departmental adviser for a list of courses that fulfill this requirement. CONCENTRATION: Students will be encouraged to use a number of their discretionary courses to develop a concentration in one particular religious tradition, geographical region, or historical era. The courses involved in such a concentration should be determined in consultation with your adviser.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have Cumulative secondary school GPA equivalent to a 2.3 on the US grading scale for most programs.  Other English language Requirements: TOEFL paper-based exam: 525; Successful completion of CSU's IELP (Intensive English Language Program) Advanced Level, with a grade of 80% or better and passing COMPASS ESL scores. Completion of English language studies (Level 112) from any of the ELS Language Centers. Achieve a score of C (Pass) or better on the Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE).
