CORE COURSES (REQUIRED): SOC 250 - Introduction to Criminology, SOC 344 - Criminal Justice Systems, SOC 351 - Criminological Theory, SOC 354 - Quantitative Sociological Research, SOC 400 – Capstone Course in Sociology and Criminology; ELECTIVES; Students must complete five elective courses. At least 4of these 5 electives must be at the 300/400 level, and at least 3 of the 5 electives must be from the Criminology Group A electives. Although a student is free to complete the major requirements with any combination of Sociology electives, the department believes that the major program is greatly strengthened and better organized when there is judicious selection of electives. The department makes available to every student who declares a major in Criminology an Undergraduate Advisor. The student is expected to plan a total academic program with the assistance of the departmental advisor. Admission Requirements

Applicants must have Cumulative secondary school GPA equivalent to a 2.3 on the US grading scale for most programs.  Other English language Requirements: TOEFL paper-based exam: 525; Successful completion of CSU's IELP (Intensive English Language Program) Advanced Level, with a grade of 80% or better and passing COMPASS ESL scores. Completion of English language studies (Level 112) from any of the ELS Language Centers. Achieve a score of C (Pass) or better on the Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE).
