The objective of the degree is for the students of the Degree in Materials Engineering to acquire the following knowledge: know and understand the scientific foundations of the world of materials and their interrelationships between the structure, properties, processing and applications; develop capacities and know the technology of materials to be able to intervene in the processes of production, transformation, processing, control, maintenance, recycling and storage of any type of materials; knowing the mechanical, electronic, chemical and biological behavior of materials and knowing how to apply it to the design, calculation and modeling of elements, components and equipment; know and know how to apply the appropriate procedures for evaluating the safety, durability and service life of materials; prepare graduates to carry out the exercise of their professional activity in the innovation, development and production of new materials, and in the manufacture, by alternative methods, of conventional materials necessary to be more competitive or to solve social and environmental problems; AND acquire international mobility, the general objective of the Rey Juan Carlos University in all its degrees.
