The Degree in Water Resources provides specific training, but with an integrative and interdisciplinary approach where all relevant aspects in the comprehensive management of water resources are considered. Upon completion of this degree, the student must have acquired a series of knowledge, abilities and skills that allow them to develop with quality and competitiveness in the professional field. The specific knowledge to be acquired by the student are: Know the physical, chemical, geological and biological principles that govern the flows of matter and energy in the hydrological cycle; acquire the necessary skills for field and laboratory work, and the application of basic analytical and instrumental techniques in the study of the characteristics of water and the water environment; evaluate the demands and availability of water resources based on the different uses: human consumption, industry, agriculture, energy; knowing the technologies for treatment, purification and regeneration of water and its physical, chemical and biological foundations, and identify the most appropriate depending on the characteristics of the influent and the required quality of the effluent; apply procedures and tools in solving problems related to the water environment and its management; identify and propose protection and recovery measures for inland water masses and aquatic systems, adjusted to their environmental status; AND acquire integrated training to plan, develop and coordinate projects related to the water environment with a multidisciplinary approach.
