The philosophy of the program is based on the following main principles:

- Providing the opportunity for development and career of young researchers who want to develop their talents and skills, to design long-term careers as scientific researchers in Sociology.

In the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation, the role and responsibility of the Higher Education Institutions in scientific research is clearly defined. For Higher Education Institutions with a field in the social sciences, the aim is to encourage and promote research activities to create active and responsible social sciences for the community and society, both at the national and international level. Studies in the field of Sociology are a fundamental premise for the rational response to the changes of the social, political, cultural and economic context. Actors interested in sociological research include government agencies, enterprises and non-governmental organizations and any organization that needs to better understand community, society and development trends and needs.
