Bachelor in Biotechnology

The final formation of the graduates is represented by the competencies related to: -Knowledge of innovative biotechnologies used for the evaluation, protection and improvement of animal, plant and microbial organisms of interest and for their products. -Knowledge of biotechnologies applied to the production of food and industrial products on the basis of fermentation, as well as for food control. - Familiarity with the basic principles and techniques of varietal identification, identification of agents of infectious diseases of plants, those of infectious diseases of animals, etc. - Familiarity with innovative biotechnologies for the molecular characterization of physiological and pathological processes in microorganisms, plants, animals and humans. -Familiarity with laboratory methodology in the field of microbiology, immunology, and diagnosis of infectious diseases. - The uses of genetic, metabolic and biotransformation engineering for important aspects of environmental protection, for monitoring pollutants in water and soil up to the biohealth of the polluted environment. - Familiarity with basic molecular diagnostic techniques used in medical and pharmaceutical biotechnologies. - Getting to know the techniques of multiplication, conservation and health of plant materials "in vitro".
