This degree program prepares students to enter a diverse profession in the world's third-largest industry. Built on the curricula cornerstones of resort management, environmental tourism, events management, and cultural and heritage tourism, courses equip students with knowledge, skills, and experience in managing the tourism experience for the benefit of the traveler, host, and supporting industry. Graduates are employed in commercial, private, and public agencies, and in a wide variety of jobs and many geographic or business settings. The master’s program in public policy leads to a degree for aspiring or experienced professionals who seek career advancement through cutting-edge education and training in policy analysis and development in increasingly technical and global environments. The program prepares students to be reflective practitioners who develop, implement, manage, analyze, evaluate, and effect innovative change in the public and private sectors through a course of study that emphasizes the fundamentals of policy development; the role of technology, analytic assessment, and modeling for policy evaluation; and the implications of international and global perspectives on policy formation. Highly qualified undergraduates in major may apply to the accelerated Master of Public Policy (MPP) program. If accepted students will be able to earn a bachelor’s degree in their major and the Master of Public Policy with a reduced number of overall credits and within a reduced time frame, sometimes within five years.
