The MA in Musical Theatre reflects the varied nature of working in musical theatre and aims to provide students with the advanced skills needed to work in a diverse industry.  Students will focus on professional practice, whilst enabling them to learn how to promote both themselves (as practitioner, performer or academic) and the work they create. Students can work collaboratively, and participate in a residency at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton. This course aims to prepare students for career opportunities in the musical theatre industry and beyond, including; teamwork skills, problem solving, self-promotion, working to deadlines and critical thinking.

Successful completion of an undergraduate degree. A relevant subject at this level is not required but is desirable from candidates.

The University and Associated Studios will also consider accepting candidates who have not completed an undergraduate degree in the following circumstances:

• Applicants with a Level 6 DipTCL in Professional Musical Theatre or Dance from a TCL Accredited Course • Performers who have 5 years of professional experience in Musical Theatre, Stage Acting or Film/Television, with supporting references from reputable production companies, directors and producers.

All successfully short listed applicants will be invited to attend an audition at Associated Studios, London.

Applicants who are non-native speakers of English will be required to hold IELTS with an overall band score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each element or equivalent.
