This innovative programme offers a multi-disciplinary, practice-based approach toward offsite housing construction. This course is specifically designed to address national, European and international market needs for delivering houses faster without compromising quality using innovative and modern methods of construction. This course aims to meet the increasing demand both nationally and internationally for the use of offsite construction, in particular the need to implement this paradigm shifting approach for housing. There is a need for professionals with a thorough understanding of the design, manufacturing and construction processes involved in the development of offsite housing. As a student students will develop a full understanding of the methodologies used during the prefabrication process and gain hands-on experience of how emerging tools and technologies including BIM can be implemented to support prefabricated construction. Students will engage with real world scenarios and world leading practitioners to develop the ability to critically appraise methods and encourage innovative thinking which can be implemented for practical decision making.
