Mental health nurses help patients to overcome their ill health, or to come to terms with it, so they can lead as normal a life as possible. Severe and enduring mental health problems such as schizophrenia affect about one in 200 people each year. This course is recognized by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for the purpose of registration as a qualified nurse (mental health).

Successful completion of the Foundation Year in Public Health, Health Studies or Social Care will enable you to apply for this course. You will be guaranteed the first stage of the selection process e.g. test/interview opportunity. For further information please visit our webpages.
