Criminology and Criminal Justice is the study of what crime is, why people commit crime and what happens when they do. On this degree, students will study all the main areas of the subject – including the police, prisons and theories of crime. Students may choose cutting edge research-focused specialist modules, for example, serious and organised crime, prostitution, terrorism, victimology or youth justice. This course will be taught by lecturers who are actively researching in their fields together with those working in the criminal justice system (such as the police and magistrates), and students will have opportunities to go on relevant trips in the UK and abroad, including prisons and courts.
