The course facilitates qualified counselling psychologists to develop their research profiles to doctoral level and thereby achieve a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. The University recognises that a doctoral level of practice and theory has already been achieved by qualified counselling psychologists, and that applicants will have completed research at Master's level. It is anticipated, therefore, that learning and support needs will differ between applicants depending upon the project proposal, and that the supervisory relationship provides the forum for consideration of specific learning needs.
