The main objective of the program is to provide students with a strong background in contemporary criminological issues and research, and to give them the opportunity to better understand contemporary trends and the specific characteristics of crime, its causes, as well as possible ways to deal with it. The program will provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills needed both for their research contributions in the field of criminology and for the continuation of their careers in fields related to the subject.


The multidisciplinary nature of the program offers its students the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding in various subjects of disciplines directly related to criminology, such as psychology and law. The professors of the program actively participate as professionals at the national and international level in policy-making bodies and in the application of criminological science, thus successfully creating a bridge between theory and practice. The purpose of the program is to attract professionals from state institutions and to transform itself into a "vehicle" that contributes in its own way to society and policy-making.

Admission Criteria


The minimum requirement for admission to the postgraduate study program is a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in the social sciences and/or humanities (e.g. law, police studies, psychology, sociology, criminology, etc.) or other related disciplines.


Additionally, prospective students must meet the following admission criteria:


  • GPA 2.7 or higher, "Very Good" Greek Universities, 2nd Class (Hons) UK.
  • If deemed necessary, the student's performance in the personal interview will also be taken into account during the evaluation process.
  • Two letters of recommendation that will reflect the student's ability to complete graduate-level studies.
