Business Administration: Management and Human Resources (BBA, 4 Years)

The bachelor program in Business Administration with concentration in Management and Human Resources (HR) aims to provide a solid background in all areas of Business Administration and more specialized knowledge in Management and Human Resources. The program also aims to develop students individually and academically and to prepare them to work ethically in a changing multicultural environment. The variety and range of courses offered and the interdisciplinary character of the program as well as the culture of open discussion that characterizes the university contribute to the comprehensive education of the students.

More specifically, the general objectives of the program are to:

• Present and explain main theoretical concepts in key areas of business.
• Demonstrate how to apply the above knowledge in the solution of business problems.
• Provide tools for and experience in working in multicultural teams.
• Train students in leading ethically and in a sustainable manner in an environment of constant social, economic and technological change.
• Offer tools for and practice in analyzing business related information.
• Enhance critical thinking for the purpose of improving strategic decision-making.
• Develop students’ writing skills in relation to business.
• Cultivate students’ presentation skills.

The concentration in Management and HR aims to provide specialization in the areas of Management and HR. The concentration’s main objectives are the following:

• Explain the importance of organizing, planning, leading and controlling.
• Analyze the global socioeconomic, political and legal environments and plan strategically.
• Identify and discuss challenges and opportunities in the changing business environment.
• Debate ethical dilemmas in business.
• Stress the importance of ethical leadership and discuss its main characteristics.
• Outline reasons for resistance to change and discuss ways to overcome them.
• Explain and analyze key decision-making techniques.
• Present main principles of Human Resource Management
• Offer more specialized knowledge and skills in recruiting, selecting, developing, appraising and rewarding employees.
• Provide an in-depth understanding of the role of employment and labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.
