The  Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction  is a 30-credit hour online degree program designed to enhance and expand existing knowledge, skills, and dispositions while further developing the core competencies expected of advanced educators. This degree program prepares graduates with opportunities to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to and beneficial for:

  • Design and implement an effective curriculum to meet the needs of students in the 21st century.
  • Effectively align instruction with curriculum standards, assessment tools, and individual needs of students.
  • Critically analyzing curricular and instructional practices within learning environments and appropriately responding to the findings.
  • Articulating the rationale for decisions regarding professional practice.
  • Making informed decisions by reflecting on experiences both past and present to improve teaching practices that enhance student learning.
  • Acquire leadership skills that can be applied in the classroom or a school leadership role.
  • Becoming change leaders for the improvement of their schools or learning environment.

  • The U.S. Federal Government limits the number of online courses international students may enroll in while living in the United States. Admission Requirements

For full admission, applicants must have 1) Earned a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution, 2) a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, or 3.0 in the last half of the undergraduate program.  Conditional admission may be available to applicants who do not meet minimum admission requirements.
