The  Master’s in Exercise Physiology  is designed for students interested in clinical exercise physiology and performance/personal training-related careers. This program is committed to producing students who (a) have an in-depth understanding of how the human body responds and adapts to exercise and (b) can use up-to-date evidence and statistics to make evidence-based decisions regarding exercise program design.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must also meet the following program requirements. Requirements may be more stringent than the minimum graduate school requirements.

  • Completion of Human Anatomy ( EXSC 201  or an equivalent), Human Physiology ( EXSC 202  or an equivalent), and Exercise Physiology ( EXSC 300  or an equivalent) with a grade of “B” or better.
  • Three letters of recommendation

Note: Conditional admission for those with a Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field will be considered, provided that the student completes Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Exercise Physiology courses approved by EMU with a grade of “B” or better.
