EMU’s  Bachelor of Arts  in  Japanese Language and Culture  is designed to integrate the study of modern Japanese language and culture. One semester of study abroad in Japan is required. 

Learn

You will learn to read, write, and communicate in Japanese. You will gain a high level of language proficiency, analytical and cognitive skills, transcultural competencies in small group settings and interactions with natives, study abroad courses and/or experiences at our exchange partner institutions including Japan Center of Michigan Universities, Kansai Gaikokugo University, and more.

Opportunities

Our graduates are highly prepared for various careers in the Humanities as well as Business. They also routinely work in an international setting such as Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program as well as other private companies in Japan.
