Earning a BSN will expand your career growth and employability; it is also a requirement for programs leading to advanced practice degrees in nursing. The RN to BSN Completion program builds on both your education and practice to prepare you for new opportunities.

This degree program is available online. Please see  online.emich.edu  for additional information.

Learn

The coursework in the RN to BSN Completion program broadens your exposure to the role of nursing in areas such as communication, critical thinking, writing, evidence-based practice, advocacy, health policy, and leadership. There is one practice-based course focusing on population-based nursing.

Opportunities

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the employment of RNs is expected to grow at a much faster rate than other occupations. An increasing number of hospitals are working toward Magnet Status which designates hospitals that satisfy criteria designed to measure the strength and quality of their nursing. To achieve Magnet Status, many hospitals are seeking RNs who have earned a BSN or are working toward a BSN. After completing a BSN you may choose to earn higher degrees toward a Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Certified Nurse Anesthetist, or earn your Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
