Make a musical difference in the lives of individuals, groups, families, and communities. The  Bachelor of Music Therapy  degree combines science, artistry, and caring; and guides the development and refinement of musical, clinical, and interpersonal skills to address a range of non-musical, therapeutic goals.

Learn

Successful graduates of the Bachelor of Music Therapy program will have demonstrated musical, therapeutic, clinical, professional /ethical and research competencies (as identified by the American Music Therapy Association) and completed a minimum of 1200 hours of clinical training (including a minimum of 900 hours full- time clinical training internship).  Students learn the therapeutic potentials within the elements of music both biologically and psychologically and develop skill in applying those elements to specific therapeutic goals and objectives. Students learn to observe and record responses and interpret therapeutic effect while working with individuals and groups in our on-campus Music Therapy Center and in various community settings.

Opportunities

Graduates are eligible to apply for the Music Therapist- Board Certified (MT-BC) credential that enables them to provide music therapy services in hospitals, schools, eldercare centers, hospices, community mental health, health promotion settings and with a variety of populations.
