Computational linguistics explores how human language might be automatically processed and interpreted. Research in this area considers the mathematical and logical characteristics of natural language, and develops algorithms and statistical processes for automatic language processing.



The Master’s degree programme in Computational Linguistics at Heidelberg University covers the following topics:

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (or comparable) in Computational Linguistics from a German or recognized international university. Computational Linguistics has to constitute at least 50% of the degree. You must have achieved a mark of 2,0 (German universities) or the ECTS Grade B "Very good" or better.
