Due to the interactions between the geosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere, the Earth’s surface – and with it, the human habitat – is constantly changing.

On the basis of the knowledge acquired in a Bachelor's degree programme in Earth Sciences, students in the consecutive, research-oriented Master's degree programme will gain further expertise and methodological knowledge in the field of Earth Sciences. In addition to a small number of mandatory lectures and courses, in accordance with their own interests, students may choose additional courses from a wide range of options. Special emphasis is placed on intensive field and laboratory courses.
