This program offers a complete undergraduate program in the history and problems of philosophy. Course offerings provide the intensive training necessary for students planning to use a major in philosophy as the core of a general education as well as for those intending to pursue graduate studies upon the completion of a B.A. degree. Ten courses are required for the major in philosophy. These courses include three core courses, six elective courses, and a senior research project. The senior research project is an independent study on a topic chosen by the student after consultation with the faculty. One year of a foreign language is strongly recommended. Roosevelt University's philosophy program has organized a study abroad exchange program with Tilburg University in the Netherlands. This program is open to students in the humanities (e.g. philosophy, history, literature, languages) and social sciences.
