This program prepares students for careers as actuaries, community college faculty, and more. Both applied and theoretical courses are offered. As computer technology evolves, so do the mathematical applications including probability and statistics, numerical analysis, chaos theory, cryptography, neural networks, genetic algorithms, bioinformatics, and other fields of scientific computing. Students interested in working with computers while pursuing their MS in mathematics have the option of combining at least 18 hours of mathematics course work with up to 15 hours in computer science for a total of 33 semester hours.

Other English language Requirements: Minimum scores required on the TOEFL are 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based) along with 4.5 or higher on the essay score of TOEFL.
