The Fast-Track Program for Adults helps students age 24 and over earn their degree while maintaining important Commitments to work and family. The paralegal courses provide a thorough background in legal terminology, procedures and a variety of legal practice areas giving students a solid background with which to begin their career. This program is designed for students who wish to pursue a career as a paralegal or other related positions in the legal field. It provide a thorough background in legal terminology, procedures and a variety of legal practice areas giving students a solid background with which to begin their career. It focuses on the practical aspects of the law and students learn through hands-on experience both in their traditional classes and through the required internship course. Career Workshops are held throughout the academic year, and all students are encouraged to attend one as they approach their completion of the program. The workshops feature experienced graduates of the program or representatives of local legal recruiting firms. A presentation is conducted on career related topics including: preparing a resume and cover letter; interviewing skills and tips; working in different areas of the law; and conducting an effective job search. At the workshops all students receive a comprehensive Career Development and Job Search Manual, which is prepared and updated regularly by the program and is geared specifically toward finding a job in the legal profession.
