Established in 1992, the Institute is Taiwan's first cross-disciplinary research institute integrating health and welfare. Its goal is to cultivate talent in related fields, including health and welfare policy, health insurance, and welfare policy. Given the implementation and reform of National Health Insurance and Taiwan's aging population, the future demand for professionals who can effectively integrate health and welfare will be acute in both the public and private sectors. This is a forward-looking and urgent need. Through carefully planned courses integrating health and welfare, we aim to grasp the pulse of society and cultivate the talent the nation needs most. Our doctoral program began enrolling in 2006. Aiming to cultivate professionals who can integrate health and social welfare policy formulation and management, the Institute guides students to develop a thorough understanding of the organization and functions of health and welfare and the processes and determinants of health and welfare policy.
