The Department of Dentistry at National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University was established in 1976, offering a six-year program and accepting self-funded students. Master's programs were established in the Institute of Clinical Dentistry and the Institute of Oral Biology in 1992 and 1993, respectively. The Preparatory Office for the School of Dentistry was established in 1994, and the School of Dentistry was approved in 1999, further strengthening the integrity of dental education. For over 40 years, the department has adhered to the principle of balancing basic academic theory with clinical training, cultivating young people with independent thinking and a spirit of research. Currently, there are over a thousand graduates, most of whom are engaged in clinical practice, caring for the oral health of the public with compassion and skill. Some have continued their studies, earning doctorates at world-renowned universities and engaging in cutting-edge research in dental biology and materials science. Dental graduates from National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University consistently achieve excellent results in national examinations, and alumni hold important leadership positions in dental associations and medical centers. Each alumnus' medical ethics and superb skills are worthy of the rigorous training provided by National Yang-Ming.
