This new BA Psychological Studies  gives you the  opportunity  to pursue your passion for this subject area  at the same time as  prepar ing   you for a  successful  career  related to psychology.

  • This course  is  ideal if you are interested in applying psychology to a wide range of professional contexts, but do not wish to pursue a postgraduate career  further  as a professional psychologist.

  • On this course you will gain a  sound knowledge of all the core areas of psychology  with the chance to  focus your studies on  topics you are most interested in  to create a bespoke degree tailored to your  interests and career aspirations .   

What you will learn  

This course offers you a thorough grounding in academic psychology. You will explore various aspects of human behaviour, examining how we learn, remember, coordinate actions, and interact with others. You will gain insights into how psychology enhances our understanding of the mind and the connection between the brain and behaviour.  

You will be able to choose  option  modules so you can  specialise  in  areas including:  

  • applied psychology  
  • developmental psychology  
  • individual differences  
  • cognitive psychology  
  • neurosciences  
  • social psychology .  

How you will learn  

You will be taught in lectures and seminars that are designed to help you successfully link critical analytic thinking and psychology . You will   participat e  in discussions, presentations and group and project work.   

In your final year, you will  also be able to  collaborate closely with expert academic staff to develop an independent theoretical dissertation on a psychology-related topic of particular interest or relevance to you .  

You will be able to choose between full- and part-time study.  This course has an evening timetable with classes taking place in the evening . You will also  be required  to attend occasional Saturday classes.
