The Department of Archaeology was established in 2008 and started accepting students the same year. Since this year, it has been continuing education by filling its student quota without interruption. There are four Assistant Professors, one Lecturer, two Research Assistants and one Expert working in the department. In three classrooms and three student laboratories in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, students continue their theoretical and practical education in the fields of pottery, small finds and zooarchaeology. In addition, excavations are carried out in Kırşehir Kale Mound, Kırıkkale Büklü Kale and Ankara Çayyolu Mound, which are carried out by the faculty members of the department, and optional student internships are also carried out in these excavations. Activities such as three-dimensional scanning and aerial photography are carried out in the Cultural Heritage Analysis and Documentation Unit of the Central Research and Application Laboratory within Ahi Evran University by our faculty members and our students trained in the laboratory.
