The Genetics and Bioengineering Master's program has started accepting students since the 2016-2017 Fall semester.
Degree Earned Master's Degree in Genetics and Bioengineering Admission Requirements In order to apply to the proposed Genetics and Bioengineering Department Thesis Master's Program, candidates must have a bachelor's degree from the Departments of Genetics and Bioengineering, Bioengineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Agricultural Biotechnology and Molecular Biology and Genetics. Applicants must have the qualifications specified in the Ahi Evran University, Institute of Science, Postgraduate Education-Training and Examination Regulation Postgraduate Program Student Admission Principles. Transition to the Next Level Students who complete the Genetics and Bioengineering master's program can study in the same field or a doctoral program in a similar field if they receive a passing score from the ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) and have a sufficient level of English language proficiency. Graduation Requirements In order to receive a Master's degree from the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering, students must pass seven courses with a minimum of 157.5 ECTS and one seminar, excluding the specialization course, throughout their education. In addition, the Master's Thesis must be completed with a 'Successful' grade. The specialization course, seminar and thesis are non-credit and are evaluated as successful (B) or unsuccessful (K). The candidate must also successfully defend the thesis he/she has prepared before a selected jury. Graduate Employment Opportunities Graduates of the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering can have job opportunities in many different industrial areas such as research and manager in industrial organizations operating in various fields of biological sciences and biotechnology at national and international levels, such as in the agricultural sector, hospitals, pharmaceutical (antibiotics, vitamins, hormones) industry, food (foodstuffs, beverages) industry, energy resources (hydrogen, ethanol, biogas and biodiesel) and environmental protection organizations, TÜBİTAK, genetic diagnosis and treatment organizations, and businesses that make prostheses and implants. Assessment and Evaluation Exams in the Genetics and Bioengineering Master's program are conducted based on the Ahi Evran University Postgraduate Education-Training and Examination Regulation.
