The Department of Archeology was established in 2008 and started accepting students in the same year. Since this year, it has been continuing its education by filling the full student quota without interruption. Four Assistant Professors, one Lecturer, two Research Assistants and one Expert work in the department. In three classrooms and three student laboratories at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, students continue their theoretical and practical education in the fields of pottery, small finds and zooarchaeology. In addition, excavations are carried out in Kırşehir Kale Höyük, Kırıkkale Büklü Castle, Ankara Çayyolu Höyük, carried out by faculty members of the department, and optional student internships are also carried out in these excavations. In the Cultural Heritage Analysis and Documentation Unit of the Central Research and Application Laboratory within Ahi Evran University, activities such as three-dimensional scanning and aerial photography are carried out by the faculty members of our department and our students trained in the laboratory.
