When the historical development of the Department of Agricultural Economics in Turkey is examined, it continues as a continuation of a process that started with the establishment of the Higher Agricultural Institute in 1933, which coincides with the first years of the Republican era. The department, which continued its education life under the name of Agricultural Economics at first, was organized by YÖK in 1982 as the Department of Agricultural Economics. Many scientists from the USA Nebraska school contributed to the development of the department in Turkey.In today's conditions, there are nearly 20 Agricultural Economics Departments in the state universities of the Republic of Turkey, and education and training activities continue actively in the Agricultural Economics Departments of 17 universities. Graduates of the department receive the title of "Agricultural Engineer". The department, which accepts students with a TM-1 score, ranks first among the Faculty of Agriculture Departments in terms of student preferences with its wide spectrum of job opportunities.The Department of Agricultural Economics is a dynamic educational model integrated into the changing and transforming world conjuncture, constantly renewing itself and effective in the formation of the country's agricultural policy, productive in social issues and contributing to this process, in constant interaction with its stakeholders, and able to structurally carry interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary working opportunities. it is a science. While making a permanent contribution to these basic dynamics with the undergraduate and graduate students it graduates, it also accepts it as a duty to train qualified personnel for the scientific community in its field. The Department of Agricultural Economics consists of two Departments.
