Every day, cybercriminals exploit the speed, convenience and anonymity of the internet to commit crimes such as phishing, password cracking and ransomware attacks. Cybercrime is on the rise, yet globally there’s a shortfall of more than three million cybersecurity professionals due to a lack of skilled graduates. With demand projected to grow significantly over the next five years, the need for qualified experts has never been greater.

The Master of Information Technology in Cyber Security will equip you to meet this demand. You’ll build advanced capability in applied cryptography, data privacy, digital forensics, ethical hacking, information security and secure app development. You’ll study in our state-of-the-art 14-lab computing precinct, and access our $10 million Cyber Security Hub – where academia, industry and government collaborate to address real-world challenges. Through an industry internship or supervised research project, you’ll gain valuable practical experience, and with our location in the Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District, you’ll have opportunities to connect with organisations driving advances in cyber-secure infrastructure, such as NEXTDC, Hubify, Meridian IT and Raytheon Australia.
